Sex partners should be treated.Patient and partner should avoid sex until therapy is completed and they are symptomatic.
Metronidazole (Flagyl^®) Generics available Pregnancy: B; Lactation: Unsafe Tabs: 250 mg, 500 mg	Adolescents and Adult: 2 g ´ 1 dose or 500 mg twice daily for 7 days.	Food: Administer on empty stomach unless GI upset occurs, then with food. Important side effects: Dizziness, headache, confusion, seizures, nausea, metallic taste, insomnia, paresthesias. May cause Disulfiram-like reaction - avoid alcohol.
