Ophthalmic solution 10%, 15%, and 30% Ophthalmic Ointment 10% |
Children ≥2 months to Adult:
Ophthalmic solution 10%: Instill 1-2 drops in the lower conjunctival sac of affected eye(s) every 1 to 3 hours while awake, less often at night. Frequency depends on severity of infection.
Ophthalmic ointment 10%: Apply a ribbon to the lower conjunctival sac four times daily and at bedtime. May also use at bedtime in addition to solution during daytime. 30% solution should be used for severe infections only. Important side effects: Burning, sensitivity to light, headache, rash, hypersensitivity, bone marrow suppression, blurred vision.
Caution: Use with caution in persons with G-6-PD deficiency or dry eye(s). |
